6 Month Birthday!

Yesterday was momentous in the Bursa household. Thérèse turned 6 months, started rice cereal, and got some more shots.

We wanted to capture those first few bites of rice cereal.

Thérèse really got the hang of it quickly.

Doctor's report: Thérèse is 14.5 pounds and 25 and quarter inches long. The shots went well. We were so proud of our big girl. She cried and got over it before we even got to the car. She is growing up so fast!

Discovering her tongue

Thérèse is in this new discovery phase. It is so fun! She is a little busy body checking everything out all the time. She thinks she is a little more mobile than she is, although she is moving a lot more.

Her latest movement triumph started about some time last week. Brad was playing our typical family game of making noises at the baby so she makes noises back. Brad made an AAAHH sound and then a raspberry noise with his tongue. Much to our surprise Thérèse imitated Brad perfectly. She actually might have been more surprised than us. Since then she has been infatuated with her tongue. The initial tongue control was a small fluke, but now she really focuses on moving her tongue. Our game has changed to try to get to to copy our tongue sounds. Here is a little sample:

Happy tongue twister day!

Thérèse taking over

Now that mom is down for her nap, I can post on MY blog. Today I want to give a birthday shout out to my Great-Grandma Carmen Conlin in Stillwater, Minnesota.

I picked you these beautiful lilacs from my backyard. They smell delicious, but mommy says they are NOT for eating...

I hope you have a great day Grandma. I love you and I can't wait to see you in June!

Enjoying the Sunshine

This week has been beautiful, so we are taking advantage of the warm weather and getting outside as much as possible.
Here is Thérèse enjoying her stroller! I think the sun is in her eyes...

We walked to the library, to Mass, to Daddy's work, to the bank, to Auntie Maureen's house,

to Maggie's house, and just all over the neighborhood!

Thérèse loves playing with her new cousin Gianna and her big cousin Davy.

They hold hands...how adorable!

Maggie Milroy shows Thérèse how standing is really done.

We did some major gardening yesterday and it was great to have so much help! My assistant did need a little help with the shovel...

After a long day of playing with friends and enjoying the sunshine, Thérèse is still wishing she was outside.

Easter, Engagement, New Cousin--OH My!

Hi world! I am taking over to tell you about my exciting past few days.
On Saturday my Godmother, Lizzie, got engaged. That means I have a new future uncle or "funcle" as I like to call him.

Here is a picture of me, auntie liz, and funcle Doug.

The next day was Easter. Here is me with my Easter basket. A bunny gave it to me!

I love my new hat. Daddy loves my candy. I love to share it with him.

Check out my cute Easter dress, complete with bonnet and matching bow. I even had matching bloomers, but mommy said its not lady-like for me to show them off.

I wore my pretty dress to Mass and then to Grandma and Grandpa's house. I played with my cousin Davy all day!

The next day I got to play with Davy some more because her mommy was busy doing something. I think she was getting the baby.
Then we all went to the hospital to meet my new cousin Gianna.
Isn't she cute? She is so little. Mommy said I used to be that little too.

Here is a picture of mommy holding Gianna. She was winking at me.

Well I gotta go. I need to grab a snack...
